AgileHero

Compare · AgileHero vs ClickUp

ClickUp alternative for agile teamsScoped to the sprint, calm by design.

ClickUp aims to be one platform for every team in the company, and its published catalog is enormous. AgileHero goes the other way: one product scoped to agile practice — and the two ceremonies that do not appear in ClickUp's published feature list (checked July 29, 2026), estimation sessions and retrospectives, are built in and wired to the same board.

The short answer

AgileHero is a ClickUp alternative for teams whose work is agile practice rather than company-wide work management. ClickUp's published pages cover much of the delivery side well — Kanban board, Sprints, sprint points, Whiteboards, Mind Maps, Docs, Gantt, agile charts. What they do not list, as of our capture, is the ceremony layer: no retrospective feature and no session-based estimation appear in the published catalog (checked July 29, 2026). AgileHero builds both in — estimation poker on every card and zero-setup retro boards — and connects them to the same cards, epics, and real-time sync as the board, the whiteboard, the roadmap, and the wiki.

For a five-person team the whole suite is $39 a month on AgileHero Pro. ClickUp Business — the closest tier by published plan limits — was $60 a month at its billed-yearly price when we captured clickup.com on July 29, 2026 (5 × $12 per user; no monthly-billing price was published). The first two AgileHero seats are free forever, and every Pro module has a 14-day trial with no credit card.

AgileHero vs ClickUp, feature by feature

Tiers compared: AgileHero Pro vs ClickUp Business — the lowest ClickUp tier whose published plan limits reach the comparable analytics surface (Business lists unlimited dashboards). Most ClickUp feature claims below are published without plan attribution, so the tier mapping is a closest match, not a feature-parity statement. Every ClickUp fact below comes from ClickUp's own published pages and developer documentation, captured July 29, 2026.

Where AgileHero is the better fit

The ceremony layer is built in

Estimation poker on every card — hidden votes, shared reveal, free on every plan — and zero-setup retro boards with a shared timer, dot-voting, and carried-forward action items. Neither appears in ClickUp's published feature list (checked July 29, 2026); Sprint points is described there as a field-level estimate.

The canvas feeds the board

Both products market whiteboards and mind maps. On AgileHero, one click turns a sticky into a card, a frame into an epic, and a whole mind map into an epic with cards — on your own board. ClickUp's published Whiteboards description does not mention a notes-to-tasks conversion (checked July 29, 2026).

Calm, and scoped to agile practice

A working workspace, project, and board exist the moment you sign up. Estimation uses one good scale, epics carry the color while labels stay quiet, and WIP limits guide without ever blocking — reasonable defaults instead of a configuration project.

An agent that can run the whole product

One personal token gives an AI assistant 49 tools — cards and epics, but also whiteboards, retrospectives, the roadmap, the wiki, and delivery metrics — so one agent can research, visualize, plan, and execute in the same product, always bounded by your own permissions. ClickUp's published MCP tool list covers 47 tools across tasks, docs, chat, and related surfaces.

One price with the agent quota included

$12 a month plus $9 a seat after the first two free — $39 for five people, versus $60 on ClickUp Business at its billed-yearly price (captured July 29, 2026). Agent calls are part of the plan: 500 per user per day on Free, 5,000 on Pro.

Where ClickUp is the better fit

One platform for the whole company

ClickUp's homepage addresses project management, marketing, product and engineering, IT/PMO, HR, and leadership, for businesses of all sizes (captured July 29, 2026). If you want every department in one tool — with 15+ views, built-in Chat, and a Workload view — that breadth is real, and AgileHero does not attempt it.

A much larger AI product surface

ClickUp's pages describe Super Agents, AI Notetaker, Talk to Text, AI Fields, and AI image generation, and its Brain add-on bundles premium models — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — at $9 per user/month billed yearly (captured July 29, 2026). AgileHero's AI surface is deliberately narrower: agents drive the product over MCP.

Integrations at a different scale

ClickUp's integrations page claims over 1,000 tools, stated as free to connect, alongside a documented public REST API (captured July 29, 2026). AgileHero has no integration directory today — external integrations are next on our roadmap, but right now this one is ClickUp's.

A free plan and a low-cost entry tier

ClickUp's Free Forever plan is $0, and its Unlimited tier was listed at $7 per user/month billed yearly (captured July 29, 2026). If a basic licensed plan is all you need, ClickUp's ladder starts low — the comparison on this page is deliberately Business-tier, for like-for-like plan limits.

ClickUp pricing at a glance (July 2026)

As captured from clickup.com on July 29, 2026, in the page's annual-billing presentation — no monthly-billing price was published: Free Forever is $0; Unlimited is $7 per user/month billed yearly; Business is $12 per user/month billed yearly; Enterprise is unpriced — "Contact sales". AI is an add-on priced on top of a seat: Brain at $9 per user/month billed yearly, and Everything AI at $28 per user/month billed yearly.

The like-for-like comparison for an agile team of five is the Business tier: 5 × $12 comes to $60 a month, billed yearly. AgileHero Pro is $39 a month for the same five people — $12 base plus $9 for each seat beyond the two free ones — with agent access and daily quotas included rather than sold separately. ClickUp's MCP server is on all plans too; its Brain add-on, the bundled model subscription, is priced separately and brings five Business seats to $105 a month (prices captured July 29, 2026). Yearly billing on AgileHero is roughly two months cheaper, every Pro module has a 14-day trial without a card, and if you ever cancel, your data stays — premium modules are paywalled on downgrade, never erased.

Does ClickUp do sprints and retros?

Sprints, yes — by its own pages. ClickUp's agile page leads with managing product roadmaps, backlogs, and sprints, and the published catalog backs the delivery side well: Sprints as time-boxed periods, sprint points, a drag-and-drop Kanban board, and burndown, burnup, velocity, and cumulative-flow reporting (clickup.com, captured July 29, 2026). The ceremonies are where the published pages go quiet: we found no retrospective feature across the roughly 100-item features catalog or the agile page, and no session-based estimation — Sprint points is described as a field-level estimate on each item of work (checked July 29, 2026).

AgileHero's answer is one product where the board, the estimation session, the retro, the whiteboard, and the delivery metrics share the same cards, the same epics, and the same real-time sync. Estimates come from a session with hidden votes and an instant reveal, retro action items are already cards on the board, and velocity and cumulative-flow charts track the interval that matches your sprint length — with no report setup.

Leaving ClickUp — a short checklist

ClickUp does not publish a cancellation walkthrough on the pages we track, so the honest version is generic: check your renewal date before it rolls over, and take copies of anything you need from your workspace while your plan is active.

Starting on AgileHero takes minutes: a working workspace, project, and board exist the moment you sign up. Recreate your columns and open cards as you go — or connect an AI assistant over MCP and let it file the structure for you. There is no one-click ClickUp import today; we would rather say that plainly than surprise you. Two seats are free forever, and the 14-day Pro trial needs no credit card.

Common questions

Is AgileHero a good ClickUp alternative for agile teams?

If your team's work is agile practice — boards, estimation, retrospectives, a roadmap, delivery metrics — AgileHero covers that whole loop in one calm product, and the two ceremonies missing from ClickUp's published feature list (retrospective boards and session-based estimation, checked July 29, 2026) are built in. If you want one platform for every team in the company — marketing, HR, IT, engineering — ClickUp addresses all of those on its own pages, and its published integrations page claims over 1,000 tools. That breadth is real; we simply do not compete on it.

How much does AgileHero cost compared to ClickUp?

AgileHero Pro is $12 per month plus $9 per month for each seat beyond the first two — $39 per month for a five-person team, with yearly billing roughly two months cheaper. ClickUp Business was listed at $12 per user per month billed yearly when we captured clickup.com on July 29, 2026 — $60 per month for the same five people at that annual-billing price; no monthly-billing price appeared on the page we captured. Tiers compared: AgileHero Pro vs ClickUp Business.

Does ClickUp have retrospectives or estimation sessions?

Not in its published feature list, as of our capture on July 29, 2026: we found no retrospective feature across the roughly 100-item features catalog or the agile page, and no session-based estimation — Sprint points is described there as a field-level estimate. In AgileHero, estimation poker runs on the card with hidden votes and a shared reveal, free on every plan, and retro boards come with six ready-made columns, a shared timer, dot-voting, and action items carried to the next retro.

Do both ClickUp and AgileHero have an MCP server?

Yes. ClickUp's developer documentation describes a first-party MCP server in public beta, available on all plans, with 47 published tools and OAuth-only sign-in (captured July 29, 2026). AgileHero's MCP server is also on every plan — 49 tools that span boards, whiteboards, retrospectives, the roadmap, the wiki, and delivery metrics, with 500 agent calls per user per day on Free workspaces and 5,000 on Pro, always bounded by your own permissions.

Can I import my ClickUp workspace into AgileHero?

There is no one-click ClickUp import today — honestly. You can recreate your columns and open cards by hand, or hand the structure to an AI assistant connected over MCP and let it file the cards. Whatever you build stays yours: if you ever downgrade, premium modules are paywalled, never erased.

Is there a free plan?

Yes — two seats, free forever, and deliberately feature-rich: boards, backlog, rich cards, estimation poker, real-time sync, and MCP agent access with 500 calls a day are all included. ClickUp also lists a Free Forever plan at $0; its published per-plan limits include 60MB of storage and one form, and its MCP server is stated as available on all plans (captured July 29, 2026). Every AgileHero Pro module has a 14-day trial, no credit card required.
